On Wednesday, March 25, Maria Young spoke about the organization “A Doorway to Hope.”![]()

Their mission is to provide temporary emergency assistance to the working poor in southwest Wake County and to help them return to self-sufficiency.![]()

Following her presentation, we held our fundraising ticket draw. Mark Newman’s number was selected, and he drew the correct card from the deck, winning the pot. In a wonderful show of generosity, our fellow Rotarians multiplied the winnings and donated the total to A Doorway to Hope.![]()

It was nice to meet and hear from from Peace Center scholar Rifuma Khoza, who shared her experiences in the United States and expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to continue pursuing her master’s degree in social studies.
