Jacques Gilbert, Mayor of Apex, NC and founder and president of Blue Lights College, told us about how he identified the need to nourish positive connections between the community and police when he was working as Captain in the Apex PD. He engineered a program designed to train new police officers to respond to conflict with compassion and respect. You can read all abut the program on their website HERE.
